In 1995, Walter and Maureen Staloff donated a conservation easement on nearly 60 acres of fields and forests in an area where there is a significant increase in subdivision and development. The diverse habitat, including a relatively old-growth hemlock stand, open fields, meandering streams and pond, contributes to the property’s uniqueness. This diversity provides for a wide variety of birds and other wildlife. The Staloffs are avid birders and have made arrangements to bequeath the property to the Central NY Chapter of the Audubon Society for continued use as a birding and research area.
